What is Shoquiz?
Shoquiz is a studying app. You can build your own quizzes with the Maker, import study sets, organize everything in your library, export worksheets as PDF, and generate quizzes from your notes with the AI quiz generator.
Where are my quizzes stored?
On your device. Quizzes are saved as .shoquizn files in the app's Documents folder, and Shoquiz has no accounts. If you back up your device with iCloud or iTunes, your quizzes are included in that backup based on your Apple settings. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How do I make a quiz?
Open the Maker, add your questions and answers, and save. The quiz appears in your library. Questions can be typed answer, two choice, explain, fill in the blank, or HTML, and you can attach audio or video to a question.
How do I import a quiz or study set?
Use the import option in your library to choose a file. If a file won't load, make sure it is a supported format and try again. If it still fails, email us the file type and what happened.
Sharing and exporting
Can I export my quizzes?
Yes. You can export a quiz as a PDF worksheet, and Teacher tools include a converter for moving quizzes between formats such as Kahoot, Blooket, Shoquiz, Anki, and a playable website.
How do I send a quiz to someone nearby?
Sending is available in Teacher mode. Both devices need to be nearby, the sender picks the person by their display name, and the receiver must accept before anything is received. If devices can't see each other, check that Shoquiz has permission to use the local network in system Settings, and that both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
What is Classroom mode?
Classroom mode lets a teacher host a quiz on a shared screen (for example with AirPlay) while students join. Students get an invite to accept, and the teacher can save the quiz at the end.
AI features
How does the AI quiz generator work?
It uses Apple's Foundation Models. By default your text is processed by the on-device model and stays on your device. It is sent to Apple's Private Cloud Compute only if you choose that option.
The AI features aren't available on my device.
AI features depend on Apple's Foundation Models, which require a supported device with Apple Intelligence turned on in system Settings. If your device doesn't support it, the rest of Shoquiz works as usual.
Privacy and telemetry
What data does Shoquiz collect?
Optional telemetry (an anonymous install ID, experiment groups, high-level feature usage, and basic device and app version information) is the only data the app sends. It never includes your quiz content, titles, names, or files.
How do I turn telemetry off?
Open Settings in Shoquiz and switch telemetry off at any time. Shoquiz works the same either way. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my telemetry data?
Email katspringb@icloud.com and ask for your data to be deleted. Telemetry events are kept for up to 7 days. Reinstalling the app gives you a new anonymous ID.
Troubleshooting
The app is acting strangely or a feature is missing.
- Force quit Shoquiz and reopen it.
- Update to the latest version in the App Store.
- Restart your device.
- Check that your device is on a supported version of iOS.

Can I test new features early?
Yes. Join the Shoquiz beta on TestFlight. Beta builds may be unstable, and feedback sent through TestFlight or email is welcome.
Does Shoquiz work on Mac?
Yes, Shoquiz can run on Mac. On Mac, the app focuses on your quiz files, the Maker, and Teacher tools if Teacher mode is on.
